Updates since site launch

We've done more organization in the site since the launch, we've added a few pages and developed more functionality.

We're working on new controls for the Events System on the site. The first control we'll be releasing shortly will replace the existing list of events on the Events page. It will give you the option of switching from the list of events (like it is now) to a Calendar with the events shown on it. This control will also provide any member of the site who is logged in with a link to add new events to the site. We'll also be adding a Discussion thread on each event so members who are logged in can discuss the event right from that event page.

In the News menu we've added a News Feed page that pulls news stories from Google News. We will be adding feeds to this page from other sources soon but in the mean time you can use the comments below to suggest news feed sources you'd like to see.

In the Feedback menu we've added a new Feedback form to give everyone the ability to send us a message for whatever reason. We're also going to add a similar feature to the Poll we have published so you can add additional comments to the Poll to expand on your insight if you wish.

We're working on the Interactive Maps feature and will give you more information about it's release and functionality in future posts. But for now let's just say we've got big plans for the mapping system.

We've added a dynamic sitemap for Google and Bing to use for search indexing. This is one of those efforts that you do not see since it's meant for the web crawlers' use. Besides, most humans don't much care for reading XML markup but if your curious it can be accessed at http://www.avidcycling.com/sitemap.ashx

As always, send us your comments, criticisms and suggestions. We're listening!
